Coronation Street fans have been mystified by the arrival of seemingly charming B&B guest Scott (Tom Roberts) – who has arrived in Weatherfield with an agenda.
He and Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) have quite a past, which Johnny was so desperate to be kept hidden that he fled to France for a long holiday with wife Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews). But Scott is making himself at home and doesn’t seem to be prepared to shift until he has his showdown with Johnny.
A lot of theories have been doing the rounds – such as Scott and Johnny being in a relationship at one point or them being involved in crime – but after Scott unleashed his anger at Chelsey and Jordan when their blackmailing of Carla (Alison King) came to light, a new theory has entered the realm.
As Carla bravely defied the threats she was facing from Jordan and Chelsey and announced to the pub that she had been forced to sleep with Jordan in her most vulnerable hour and now they wanted money, Scott was first to dive in and launch Jordan out of the pub roughly – and he was taking no prisoners.
Jordan and Chelsey were later attacked and when it becomes clear that Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) wasn’t to blame as he has an alibi, Carla wonders what happened and some viewers think Scott might have the temper and strength to assault them.
But why is he so fiercely protective of Carla? Is it for Johnny’s sake – or could Carla be closer to him than she realises? With speculation mounting that Scott could be Carla’s real dad, does she have another bombshell in store?
The theory could well hold merit – however it seemed that Johnny was more keen for Jenny to be kept away from Scott rather than Carla. After all, fleeing to France wouldn’t stop Scott telling Carla any secrets.
So the guessing game might go on for some time. Father? Villain? Lover? Who knows – but Johnny has to come back some time and Scott will be waiting…Follow us:
