Legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Courtney Act is set to appear in Neighbours all this week as she gears up to perform at Lassiters Pride– and hopefully, we’ll soon be seeing more of her on the show.

Although this isn’t the first time she’s starred in the Aussie soap, having made a brief cameo back in February, she’s hoping to become a recurring member of the cast.

Speaking exclusively to TotalNews.uk, Courtney, aka Shane Jenek, enthused: ‘I seriously had so much fun that I would love to go back.

‘I just think for that to happen I would need a love interest, which I did pitch towards this time.’

She continued: ‘There was a love interest written in but then they realised that with the storylines that have been going on it didn’t quite fit.

‘The love interest had a recent tragedy and it didn’t quite seem right that they would be off making out with a drag queen.’

Courtney also teased what viewers can expect as she graces television screens tonight.

‘I agree to perform at pride because I know that Paul Robinson is an astute businessman and I have a business proposal for him,’ she said. ‘So I turn up to the meeting with Paul as Shane and Paul thinks he’s got a meeting with Courntey.

‘He doesn’t know that Courtney is a drag queen and doesn’t know that Shane is Courtney and so he’s really dismissive and rude.

‘So I storm off and say, “That’s it, I’m not performing at pride!” And then they talk me down off the ledge and I guess you’ll have to tune in to see what happens.’

Besides starring in Neighbours this week, fans will be able to see her live in concert as she tours her pop cabaret show Fluid.

‘It’s all about gender and sexuality through my own experience and the realisation that we put things into two categories all the time and really, it’s actually a lot more fluid than that,’ Courtney told us.

‘We’re not one thing all the other. We’re usually a combination of both and on a spectrum of it.’

She added: ‘I started writing in August last year. I wrote all of the music for it which is the first time I’ve ever done something like that.

‘The music was so personal and it just worked so much better. It just feels like it’s definitely the best show I’ve ever done and I just love performing it.’

Courtney Act’s tour Fluid will take place in April 2021 and visit 11 cities across the UK and Ireland, including the London Palladium.
