Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele looks set to leave the club this summer after the Frenchman told Jose Mourinho he never wants to play for him again.
The France ace joined Spurs from Lyon in a club record £55million deal last summer but he’s failed to live up to his reputation in north London.
Ndombele is yet to feature in Spurs’ first two matches back in the Premier League and was once again left on the bench as Mourinho’s side recorded a 2-0 win against West Ham on Tuesday night.
Spurs saw off competition from across Europe for Ndombele’s signature but concerns were there under Mauricio Pochettino that the Frenchman’s fitness levels were not at the required standard for the Premier League.
Mourinho appeared to be giving Ndombele a second chance during the Premier League’s suspension and the Portuguese coach flouted lockdown rules to give the Frenchman extra training sessions in north London in April.
That was taken as a signal that Mourinho was using the break to work on Ndombele’s fitness levels as there’s little doubt over his overall quality.
However, Ndombele hasn’t played a single minute since Project Restart and TF1 claim the midfielder told Mourinho this week that he doesn’t want to play for him again,
The pair are said to no longer be on speaking terms and some Spurs players have even stepped in to mediate between the two, such is the ill feeling between them.
It’s claimed Ndombele has the support of his team-mates, with many of them telling Mourinho’s backroom staff how impressed they’ve been with the Frenchman’s performances in training.
But it’s clear that Mourinho wants to see more from the club’s record signing and he could look to cash in on him this summer.Follow us:
